Successful Intro to Carving Session at Middleton Library
The Introduction to Carving session held at the Middleton Public Library on Thursday night, 2/28 was a huge success.
All-in-all we had 22 new carvers there. It was the second time CACW members conducted a session like this at the Middleton library. Not one of those 22 carvers attended the first one two or three years ago.
This is why community outreach programs like these are a key to the lifeblood of our organization. One of our instructors last night was our new President Kristi Minahan. Kristi had never carved before she attended that first-ever Middleton event and the result is a great carver, great carving instructor and someone who stepped up when the club desperately needed somebody to agree to be a candidate for President of our club. You may remember how close we were to disbanding as a club if nobody stepped forward. Chances are pretty good that Kristi would have never joined up and started carving if not for our then new idea of promoting carving.
